Upcoming charge for cellular connection on FST models
« on: June 04, 2021, 08:17:50 AM »

I don’t recall reading about having to pay for cellular connectivity after two years on the SR/F and SR/S when I purchased. Anyone else get this email?

The Zero Motorcycles SR/F was the first motorcycle to have a cellular connectivity module that gave owners meaningful updates from the bike in real time.

Some of the class-leading features that this module makes possible include:

Relive and share your ride details with telemetry, speed, and GPS data
Get real time charging updates and set charge targets & alerts
Bike status, tip over notification, and unauthorized movement alerts

Zero Motorcycles provides this cellular connectivity service for free for the first two years of ownership of all SR/S and SR/F motorcycles. We're extending that free service for owners approaching the two-year mark and will communicate how to renew, how much it would cost a month to do so, and all other pertinent details to you by October 1, 2021.

Until then, keep reliving your rides enjoying all of the effortless connection that is only possible on motorcycles powered by the Cypher III operating system!

Yup got it too.  Unfortunately I haven’t had cellular connectivity since I’ve owned my SR/F.

I do remember that it was two years for free, then they would charge for it.  For me, it's not worth it.  I don't get good connectivity in my garage, so I only "see" a cellular signal when on the road, and I don't use the feature anyway.  I'm not paying for it.  I can update firmware with the app, that's all I need.

I heard about that plan when the SR/F was first introduced with its new Cyber III programing.  That was one reason that I am satisfied with my legacy model with its free app and free firmware update downloads.  ;)

Having been a watcher of Dr. Who TV shows for many years the term Cyber kind of creeped me out. (Here come the Cybermen and now you have to pay for them. ;) )

I also recall that information.

I can tell you also that data doesn't go back further than 1 year on their api.  Not that they have a way to visualise it anyway. Just so you know.
