I was assuming the old Teslas had a J-1772 as stock and years later...
The Roadster and early Teslas pre-existed the J-plug.  The original plug looked similar to the modern Tesla plug but was much simpler.  If you look at Plugshare, you'll find a filter for the early Roadster plug.

Yeah, I know the very  old Teslas had a different plug. What I think I probably saw was an old Tesla inlet replaced with a J-1772, as there was no adapter used.


I was done charging before the owner of the old Tesla returned, so I never got a chance to ask questions.
