SR/F totally dead. BMS reset?
« on: May 02, 2021, 12:21:39 AM »

After plugging the bike to a new Wallbox Pulsar Plus charger overnight the bike is dead. I hear the “click” when turning it on and the fan for a bit when plugging the charger, but otherwise the whole bike is non-responsive.

Before getting a trailer, I was thinking about doing a BMS reset. But I cannot find the rubber plug in the SR/F. Any pointers?

You could check if the 12V battery underneath the seat has proper voltage (and if not even try to charge it).

Can you operate the bike if you put the killswitch and sidestand in the right position? Maybe only the dash is out or disconnected (somehow) cause you do hear the contactors. In that case you can look behind the small flyscreen if the screen is still connected.

Thank you. Bike is totally non-responsive. I will check the battery. I thought the bike had only a dc-dc converter and no battery.

Gen2 bikes only have a DC-DC converter.  The SRF/S has a 12 battery to let it have the internet connection and give into to your phone and such.

Thank you all. After a couple of hours charging the 12v the bike is back up. No need for a trip to the dealer. Thank you!

Does this not mean that your 12v DC-DC charging is busted though, and it's going to shut down again when it goes flat once more?

Cas :)

I will be monitoring it. The bike definitely does not like the Wallbox charger. It gets in a funky state. I think that has something to do with it. Well, either that or my 240v-30A circuit. My car is happy, but I haven’t successfully charged my Zero with it with 3 chargers: turbocord, Tesla+Tap and now Wallbox,

Possibly related: Ford Mach-E was in the news recently as there was a net load on the 12V battery when the vehicle is connected to a Level 2 charge point. Result is Some early Ford Mustang Mach-E owners suffer dead batteries (Reuters article). If you get a current clamp on the 12V battery maybe graph and see which way the current is flowing and when?
