Love the Energica overall, but it is way too loud. Used to be able to use the Sena for phone calls with the Zero with no background noise. People complain about the noise now.

Loud bikes saves lives - ;D  Statistically too, there's way-more pedestrian crash potential w/ a Zero than an Energica -  :o

With Zeros, the bike is louder than the stock horn!

But Energica isn't much better.

Loud bikes saves lives

This is sarcasm, right? Sometimes I can't tell on the internet.

Correct - just being silly regarding the Energica sound...

However, can some one explain the mandates behind pedestrian collision features on Volkswagen's ID4 for instance?

EV and pedestrian collision is real and allot of cost goes into injury mitigation methods IF the vehicle falls below a certain operating decibel level, yes?

I think it's out of "an abundance of caution".

I find that the motor is loudest at around 2500 rpm which seems to be 39mph on the speedometer.
Recently tested this in a narrow tunnel by hard acceleration from 50 km/h. The sound is really incredible, even through the helmet  8)
