Zero SR/S error code 64 - any idea how to fix it?
« on: May 30, 2021, 08:29:21 PM »

Hi,

unfortunately I see this error now since more than 6 month.

64 Left Turn Signal Bulb Out Fault. Left Turn Signal Connection Open.

If the error pops up there is an error message in the dash and the red error sign is visible. You can clear out the error, but it may pop up again once you switch on the turn signal. There is no obvious systematic for the error to appear. I have the impression, that the likelyhood is higher, if the conditions are wet.

If the error pops up the turn signal blinks much faster, but both bulbs are working. The problem is only visible on left turn sigal.

This is what my dealer already did to fix the problem:

  • Replacing all bulbs and cleaning the connectors
    Updating all firmware
    Remote login session from Holland

Do you have any idea what can cause this problem or how it can be fixed? One problem is, that the error only shows up ~every 200km or so and for sure never if in service.

As I understand that system, the bike detects if a bulb is out if the resistance increases. There's also the inverse short fault if the resistance decreases. I think it does that by measuring current flow through the wires when the signal is on, and that subsystem is in the MBB.

If you've really replaced the bulbs and inspected the connectors, the only two issues I see are some internal wiring fault in the left turn signal or a fault in the MBB circuit that does that. So that leaves replacing the left turn signal and replacing the MBB. One is cheaper than the other, so I'd probably replace the signal first.

Does it have a flasher relay? I would try swapping that out before the MBB and such. They’re a lot cheaper!

No, FST bikes do not have a flasher relay, its all done in the MBB
