Handlebar risers on FXS ?
« on: July 25, 2020, 06:56:19 PM »

Has anyone bought handlebar risers for an FX/FXS?  I am raising my seat up a little and want to compensate on the bars as well.  Does anyone know if the existing cables can stretch up another 1-2" ?  I may also want them moved towards me a bit, so I might need new handlebars anyway.

And also a recommendation.

Thanks.

The only confirmed fitment on an FX I could find is this thread: https://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=3601.msg20948#msg20948

However, you have an FXS and ABS so the front brake hose is going to be different. When fitting risers to my DS it looked like that was going to be the ultimate limiting factor, the cables going to the throttle and switch gear did limit me but there was plenty of extra coiled up behind the headlight that I could have pulled through if needed. The brake hose goes from the ABS pump bolted inside the frame just behind the steering head up to the lever. I would guess that 1" is probably going to be fine (I did 30mm) but 2" may be pushing it, get an adjustable height set where you can add or remove spacers.
