This thing looks so smooth and efficient!

This is what the Enclosed Lightning should probably be, rather than being fully enclosed.

That seems like a rather low goal for that much power and aero, I was expecting something north of 250mph.

You can build such a bike using Airtech LSR fairings, with sufficient bracket fabrication:

https://airtech-streamlining.com/land-speed-fairings-seats-fenders-parts/landspeed.htm

Generally, you can't carry much this way and will probably need to pay for massage therapy or chiropractic work. Being able to sit up and have the fairing guide the air for that case is much more viable for most people.

Lol ya agree on needing a chiropractor or such after riding a thing like this for longer durations  ;D
By the way i did contact some folks (i think at airtech too) and did not get a good LSR kind of fender that will fit the S platform bikes :(
Would really love that! Or some nice wheel covers :-\

Really? It’s a 17” front wheel. I would estimate that the primary concern for fitment is just mating the fender to the fork brackets, which can be done with a little machining.

Were there specific dimensional problems cited?

I designed and had brackets made via laser cut using an online service and got them back within a week, with spares, just to adapt the S fender to my DS.

I think i only contacted iMoto. Or maybe i did not hear back from airtech..
I have attached the entire email conversation with them. What i could gather from what he said was that the dimensions were not a match? Please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong..

I'm pretty sure you could make one of those work with fabrication, but they're likely right that you won't benefit much from their fairings:

A vendor representative in an email exchange like that is just saying that they can't guarantee a fit and probably don't have time to go check dozens of molds or fairings for a fitment.

What you would benefit from is probably some wheel covers - a disc that keeps the wheel spokes from churning the air forward as the wheel spins. I've made some before for my DSR and gained maybe 5% range from them.

I'm not saying that a fender wouldn't help, but those fenders let the spokes work the air too much. You'd need much more coverage to be effective.

Aah thats a different fender that i had'nt looked at. Here're the ones i was interested in (and i think we were talking about it on a different thread too):
https://ionemoto.com/products/buaf99?_pos=112&_sid=ec7e7778b&_ss=r
https://ionemoto.com/products/2022?_pos=161&_sid=ec7e7778b&_ss=r
https://ionemoto.com/products/bulf99?_pos=150&_sid=ec7e7778b&_ss=r

Let me know if you can access these links as these are from search results from their site.

But yes, you're absolutely right that the stock Hayabusa fenders don't offer much more aero than our stock fender as it does not cover a larger portion of the wheel.

I did look at the unofficial manual with the instructions you have laid out: https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Efficiency#Wheel_Covers
I would love to try that out! But not sure if i'm confident enough to get it right  :-\
