Currently without a job due to our current shared situation. I have a wrecked 2016 SR with salvage title with no powertrain or electric components at all (besides lights) near Washington DC that I would like to part out. It appears it was in a serious front-end collision (the rider is apparently okay, I spoke to the previous owner). A lot of the typical sundry items that get damaged or scraped, are. The rear of the bike appears straight.

The frame is definitely bent in the front. I rode it maybe around 30 mph before removing the powertrain; Zero's feel very interesting with no rake angle.

There probably isn't much of value here and I may end up keeping some of it as spare for my clean 2016 SR. The wheels have curb rash unfortunately but still appear true. I'll post pictures here soon. Tell me what you need!

Is the front brake master and lever in good shape?

The handlebar is bent, but I don't see any obvious damage to the front brake master or lever. It operates smoothly.

The front wheel turns smoothly and I don't see any damage aside from that serious curb rash, but keep in mind it absorbed the brunt of the impact and transferred enough force to bend the head/neck of the frame.

I have a 2014 SR that just got a new 14.4 battery pack under warranty (Thanks Zero!) so I would like to upgrade the suspension if possible since I will be keeping the bike for a while longer.

I wonder how difficult it would be to swap the newer components onto the older frame. The rear end, particularly the shock, would be the item I would be most interested in switching.

I'm in the DC area too, do you have any pictures of the front end damage? Are the forks straight or leaking?

I don't know if the 2016 shock is compatible with the 2014, but we can see since you are close. I'm dealing with an unexpected family emergency currently

According to the parts diagram, 2014 is Fast Ace and 2016 is Showa for the SR. I don’t think it’s a bolt in swap because the earlier shocks were narrower at the ends.
