Thanks Scott! Appreciate all you help and advice!

I highly recommend Scott at Elite!

I'll have to add the "bark buster" type hand guard. I've already rammed a couple of trees hard enough to realize I'll need a little protection in that dept.

Having kids really impacts my ability to get up and go riding somewhere so...

What I love about this bike is that I don't have to plan a whole day to go out riding I can just get on it and ride around my back yard or local options without disturbing anyone that I would have with my ICE bike.

It allows me to get a lot more practice in to develop any skill that I want to get better at or keep some up that get a little rusty from not riding.

Olav,

Would you be interested in sharing details concerning your street-legal mods?  Were you able to simply plug in and bolt on factory components or did you add aftermarket switches, wiring and controls?

No problem.

I bike comes with the wiring harness already installed.

I had to dig it out of its hiding place which was essentially tucked into the frame in front of the battery and behind the headlight mask and in the 12v battery area compartment.

I went online to, for example Trevor Pope, to look at the fiche finder:
https://www.trevorpopemotorcycles.co.uk/index.php?main_page=ktm_fiche_finder

I had to get:

From Trevor Pope's site I bought:

1 x Flasher Switch (78111029000)  = £14.20
1 x Brake Light Switch Front L/s (70011050000)  = £32.85

Then I got these parts:

The flasher relay is needed
FLASHER RELAY
90511030000
Relay is not plug n play the two wires need to be hooked up to the first and third plugs found in the 12v battery area.
If you get into any issues with this I can help and take some pics.

    DC HORN 12V 07 DC HORN 12V 07
    50311060200
    $22.52 x 1
    Needs mounting stuff too.

I got the rear fender extender for the plate mounting/turn signals/plate light. Scott at Elite to ordered that.
You need plastic screws for mounting.

Don't forget Light bulb and screw for the illumination plate.

KTM Mirrors you can get anything after market.

    ^REAR MIRROR L/S ^REAR MIRROR L/S

On a side note.
You might want to check the length of your kickstand bolt holding it in. It should be 35mm. Mine was 25 and the kickstand sheared off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the great information!  I'm very much hoping that I would be able to make the e-xc street legal in Nebraska.  It would be so much more useful for quick around the town trips as well as riding to a trail or similar.

That is exactly why I want to get my E-XC street legal, so I don't have to worry about going anywhere with it.

If you run into any issues or questions give me a shout.

Don't you have to registrate the bike somewhere, and provide some kind of certification, in order to make it street legal (for insurance, liability...)?

Is it enough to just add the electrical components?

Registrating a vehicle is something the importer/dealer usually do.

Olav,

Would you mind detailing your registration experience?  After you installed your street-legal components what was your first step in the registration process and what forms were you required to provide?  I'd be very interested in knowing how the DMV reacted to this electric motorcycle and if anything was questioned concerning a VIN lookup or similar.  If you prefer to keep the conversation offline please PM me.

Thanks!

Sure I'll round up the documents etc required.

Incidentally, the VIN for the e-xc is a road legal designation.

I'll follow up later with details.

Wow. If you can plate it in California anywhere else should be easier.

That was my hope, but several "backwards thinking" states (Nebraska I'm calling you out) have regulations written in such a way that an off-road MSO makes it impossible.  Quote from my DMV "Born a dirt bike remains a dirt bike".  Coming from a state that doesn't even require brake lights, mirrors, or blinkers for a "legal" street bike.   >:(

Can you show me please if you still have the bike ?
