Size Comparison SR/F and SR/S (from product pictures)
« on: February 20, 2020, 07:16:21 PM »

Attached is a size comparison of the new SR/S compared to the SR/F.
Both are from the Zero website (SR/S from the US website and SR/F from the Dutch website, which is apparently lagging :) )

Things that stand out for me :
1) The tail section is vastly longer on the SR/S about 15-20 cm  / 6-8 inches. But the passenger seat itself looks identical in size, just tilted slightly forward on the SR/S
2) Obviously the fairing on the SR/S sticks out way farther forward, putting the headlight a good 10 cm (5 inches) more forward
3) The windscreen of the SR/S is higher, but overall the SR/F has higher mirrors
4) Surprisingly the bars on the SR/F SEEM closer to the seat than on the SR/S which was opposite of what was announced, but could be optical
5) Same goes for the height of the handlebar, The SR/S is (slightly) lower
6) Seat height is exactly the same

All the lines in the attachment are either fully horizontal or vertical except for the blue one from dashboard to dashboard, The SR/S dashboard is way more forward.
7) I can't really the lower footpegs on the SR/S for some reason. which is also opposite to what was announced.

All in all 2 very good looking machines, and I have no regret whatsoever that I already have a SR/F, but if I had neither right now I would have a hard time choosing one over the other.   8)

Great comparison photos!

I am considering trading in the Sr/F and paying toward the Sr/S. I am excited to test ride the sr/s to compare the fit for me.

I am also considering modifying my Sr/F and installing bar risers and installing the foot peg lowering kit. A little comfort goes a long way.

Otherwise, I love the SR/F and I couldn't be happier and now I was laid off from work, more time to ride!

I love the mirrors under the bars, it's a much more effective design that doesn't block visibility with your shoulders and elbows. They work like wonders on my R1200RT and I'm hoping they are as good on this bike (though I'm not in the market, just hoping for general improvements in electric motorcycle ergonomics).

Ah, that's really helpful, thank you.

Do you mind if I include those images on the unofficial manual? Although honestly, I'll probably duplicate the technique myself just to try this out with the S/DS lines, and also to see about making an animated flipbook GIF or something.

By all means go ahead Brian. In fact anything I share and is of interest for the manual may be put there. You're doing awesome work!  :)

Maybe they should put it in the forum rules : "anything you say or share may be used for the unofficial manual"  8)

The GIF on Facebook is even nicer by the way.

Thanks, but I don't take permission for granted, typically, and copyright law at least vaguely demands some kind of statement of intent or consent.

Regarding the GIF on Facebook, it is nicer, but I can't get at the source file from the web interface that I can tell. It's sort of coerced into being a movie and locked into their service. But I'll see whether I can get to reproducing it.

Doesn't show clearly on these images but the foot pegs have a drop from the mounting point. Clearly visible in most pictures. Whereas the SRF ones are just straight.

I'm not so impressed with the lowered mirrors. I had an RT in the past so I understand why they did this. But the RT has break away features for those mirrors so that you can put them back after hitting something. They snap off on specific design points, no tools required to remount. These are just bars that look like a quick fix for lowering the mirrors without thinking it through.

Bar risers work well, made a big difference for me.  I did not know there was a peg lowering kit, I'll have to look into that.  I think there may be a few SR/F's on the used market soon!

Less than 1K added in price is very promising! Although 8k in weight isn't... Then I rather have some add on screen to fit the SRF.
