19' FX warranty/price question
« on: February 06, 2020, 01:27:40 AM »

Hello folks, been a while, I went the Alta route and am now revisiting Zero, I've found a leftover 2019 FX with 114 miles for $8,999 that is within a couple hours from my home, it is listed as a new bike and they are an authorized dealer, if I remember correctly, the warranty starts when the bike is ordered or possibly when received by the dealer, I cannot remember, I'm sure they'll tell me it starts when it's sold:/  Anyways, sorry if it's been covered 1,000 times, also wanted thoughts on the price, doesn't seem bad.

You can look at the warranty details on Zero's page - https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/warranty/warranty@my=2019&m=fx#

It says for a non-demo its the 'in service date' which they define as when the dealer does the pre-delivery inspection or the date the bike is delivered to the customer.  Whichever date is later in the event those don't happen on the same day.

Demo bikes its 5 years and 90 days from the date the bike shipped.

From the times it has been covered before best to take the serial number and call Zero pertaining to the warranty classification.  Post that answer for a better comment on whether it is worth $2000 off list.  In person they had a demo day around here and were willing to throw in the chain kit to sweeten the deal but not budge on the price.  Called on the phone later willing to move on the price.

I believe the five year part of the warranty is the insides of the battery.

How many of those miles were the employees on lunch break?

There may be fees conveyance, documentation, notary, probably not shipping on that.

There may be a modernized version in the works.

To me there is new left over which is unused but not sold.

Try talking about spring alternatives to get the suspention the way you like it and see where that goes.  You say coming off Alta.

Okay, I appreciate the insight, I worked many years in the cycle industry so know my way around but Zero is a different animal, after thinking about it again, I'm going to pass, had my local dealer here in Chattanooga not dropped them, I'd probably jump, til then, I'll be watching and waiting....  Thanks again!

I have a low-miles (well, until I got it) 2014 S.  It has nearly all of its range and has had no major problems (that weren't caused by the service tech!).

Remember, bad experiences outnumber the good ones here just because this is where people find help.

I don't think that bad experiences outnumber the good ones, it's just the the bad ones seem to be remembered more than the good ones.
