If someone would just give them 1 million dollars they say they will make it.  I would love to see one just do what they are claiming for the record books if nothing else.  But I'll let you all take a look and see what you think.

I think it's totally possible.  Think of a Zero Motorcycle efficiency, super-low drag, and a car size battery?  Tooling around the mountains with my speed topping at 50mph I'm getting a trip average no higher than 66wh/mi which is 510 mpg.  Think what you could do with that and a bigger battery?

They have a working model, I wonder how well it does.

They used to be based in Carlsbad, not far from where I live. I thought seriously about applying to work there (I'm an EE), but their future just seemed far too hopeful and not realistic. They're owned by a Chinese company now, and hopefully better backed.

I think there's room in the market for a vehicle like that. It would be just about the most minimal way to commute in a closed private environment, with seatbelts, airbags and the ability to haul a passenger and a few bags of groceries. For most (non motorcycling) people, it would make an extremely affordable and wonderful second vehicle.

Hmm, the news report I read said they'd bought the IP back from the Chinese company.
