It was very interesting, thanks.
The idea of tires that only last 10 laps makes my wallet cry but that's why I used to race bicycles and not cars or motorcycles. :)
Reading between the lines I guess the race has the same basic battery of the new 2020 Egos so it should have much better heat management.
There is a lot of money being spent on this race series and it's good to see the advancements showing up in the street bikes as quickly as they have.

Maybe they also don't care so much about the longevity of batteries on the track, so they can allow higher temperatures. Is there a requirement how many races a battery pack must last?

Well it said it had more "battery" whether it's more cells or more powerful cells.  It spreads the work load to make it easier on each cell.  Less amps = less heat.

It's a new series, so they're making it up as they go along.  The only thing they specified at the beginning was that battery conservation would NOT be a factor for running the race so Energica has to figure out how many laps the bikes can go before they start reducing power and base the length of the race on that.  All the racers should have to concern themselves with is the tires.

And DAMN, those things are just under 600 lbs each!?  Wow... I bet that feels VERY different to the competitors than the ultra-light ICE bikes they've raced before!  No wonder in that first race the bike hit the air fence like a torpedo when the rider lost the front end!!
