EV 1 Gas 0 in California powerpocalypse...
« on: October 12, 2019, 01:19:43 AM »

Well, the generator ran through the five gallon propane tank and I had to get more.  So I went to town (it's walking distance, but I'm carrying a tank, so I take the bike.)  I get down there and the gas station is closed, so I can't refill the propane, but there's exchanges at the hardware store so that's still working.

But I get home and tell my spouse this and she makes a face at me and then says that means she can't go anywhere on her ICE bike because it doesn't have enough fuel.

Hehe.  I can plug in anywhere, not tied to some specific fuel!

Yesterday having the freedom of the bike meant where ever there was stupid traffic, I had no problems.  Honestly, I had more trouble finding a legal spot to park downtown!  All the lots were full, including motorcycle parking.  As were the charging points.  At one point, I lane split past stop-and-go traffic for two miles, didn't get above 15mph I didn't have much space.  But it was a nice ride. ^-^

My daughter and I picked up my granddaughter from UCSC yesterday because the power was out at the campus and they canceled all of their classes, even before the power was cut. So she decided that being home would be more fun than being at the University with nothing to do.
It took us 3 hours to travel the 60 miles back to my home in Pacifica due to very heavy traffic that seemed unable to navigate through the dead signalized intersections in Half Moon Bay.
While we were sitting in traffic going nowhere, we were being passed by motorcycle riders passing us on the right.
