Open eSBK racing event canceled

The Open eSBK racing weekend was canceled due to a prototype racer that caught on fire:

Very expensive lesson.
For now their whole setup and charging areas have to be made and spaced out for the very real possibility of a fire. 
This looks very bad for the sport and EVs as a whole.  Figuring out where the problem lies and fixing it should be the top priority.
Seems like they are trying to charge too much too fast.  Just not worth it.

You may have heard about the terrible dive boat fire that occurred in Santa Barbara recently.  34 people were burned to death while sleeping because they couldn't get out of their quarters before the fire consumed the boat.  Now the local news media is pushing the idea that the fire was started by camera, cell phone and other electrical equipment's lithium batteries being recharged during the night for usage the next day.  However, there has been absolutely no facts to back up this claim. But it sure is making the rounds in the press, where lithium batteries seem to have a very bad reputation among "reporters".   :(
