Very interesting article on battery technology research

Solid State Batteries. It's nice to see so many big companies working on next generation battery technology.

I agree. That is an interesting article and one that demonstrates that there is still a long way to go.  There are a lot of good battery ideas out there, but scaling them up for mass(ive) production at a reasonable cost is the real challenge.

I also agree with the article.
 

Even though Li-ion cells have gotten us here today, they just aren't good enough to get us over the hump.
