New Energica Owner
« on: February 12, 2019, 08:35:40 AM »

Picked up a 2018 80kw for a crazy low price. Absolutely love this thing. Also helps having a dealer in town (AF1 Racing in Austin).

I hadn't ridden a bike in 20 years so I didn't have the usual "this is so different than my ICE bike" reaction. Now gotta get my wife something like a Zero or maybe that new Lightning since this is too heavy for her.

Going to check out the CCS chargers this weekend. Extremely happy with the purchase. wanted to get the 107 but couldn't pass up the deal on this 80.

Congrats on your purchase! With 80 kW you can still surprise a lot of ICE bikes ;). Are you going to have bobbins mounted on the rear fork for the paddock stand? For me an essential accessory.

Welcome to the Energica Club! Make sure you have the latest firmware update as it allows you to charge at 70A/22kW instead of 60A/18kW. Be sure to check out the different regen modes. I have found that on high it is very easy to modulate and you will rarely use those Brembos. Truly an awesome machine and in many ways far better than the Zero SR.
