Do you think it is serious ?
It's a student project, and needs to be viewed in that context (at the ETH in Zurich, which is Switzerland's leading engineering university).
No idea to what extent the basic premise holds (that it's worthwhile trying to recover braking energy via regen on a street motorcycle); AFAIK, on the heavier EVs such as Teslas, regen can increase range as much as 20-25% when doing long downhill stretches. On smaller vehicles such as e-bicycles, IIRC it's 7-8% (and very few ofthem have regen).
Even if the premise holds, it'll take a while to design, prototype & build, and then longer to commercialize.

Their website bugs on adblockers, cannot see. Therefore not interesting.

Strange to focus on regen. If you are seeking the longest possible range, you never use regen, and rather drive/ride quite slowly at constant speed, while sleeping!

With a Zero, I could tackle 200km range with 10kWh (real), riding as slowly as 50km/h. Therefore, with a smaller and lighter rider, and some additional fairing, this 400/15 seems possible, no magic. At least on a closed track with no disturbance.

Yes the ETH Zürich is kown as leading technology University in Swiss and Europe and the design by ZHDK is also cool.
and the bikes moves.

What me wonders is if the 1260 oild-cooled/heated Li-Ion batteries can perform so much better then the Zero LiPo cells, maybe a battery Guru can answer this ?

BTW.: I ride my Zero SR ~16kWh on contry roads (few motorway kms) hillside about 200km+ at 80-120km/h, so this would be twice the performance maybe 30% more in the city.

As of the video, it seems soooo easy! Just draw a fantastic look, and the aluminium machining shop will create all the specific parts to get that very special prototype. Of course, this is not intended to be mass-produced and sold at an acceptable price tag!

The really ugly part is the registration plate....

It does seem like more of a styling exercise than an attempt to engineer new EV components.
