My bike's had an occasional problem with that since it was new. I notice particularly when the weather turns (warms up at the beginning of summer or cools down later in the season), it will occasionally give me some grief. If I notice the red light flickering on the dashboard, I give the kickstand a kick with my left foot and that seems adequate. Very rarely, it has allowed me to start out, but shut me down again in 50 feet or so, which is more annoying and could be dangerous if you get out into traffic and lose power.
I've given some thought to epoxying a strong magnet to the sensor, to make it think the kickstand's always up. But I think there is some value to the switch. I've had jokesters who didn't realize the bike was "running" twist the throttle before I got on, and the only thing preventing the bike from surging forward was that kickstand switch.
I've decided it's not so bad giving it the occasional kick. It doesn't seem to be getting worse or better, so it's just one of those idiosyncrasies I've learned to live with.
