Just Put money down on my Zero DSR 2018
« on: August 25, 2018, 10:01:55 PM »

I have been lurking for the last month or so. Yesterday I put down a deposit on a Zero DSR 2018 with charge tank.  I receive it on Tuesday.  It was a blast to test ride. It took a bit to get used to the lack of clutch but the fun and ease of riding more than made up for it.  I am pretty excited, I haven't ridden a motorcycle since I was a kid in farm country.

Welcome!

Great choice!

I find the no clutch to be a big advantage for several reasons.  For one, it makes my smaller DS 6.5 very easy to get up the ramp on the hitch of my RV. It just goes up on its own power. No ICE bikes can so easily go 0.5 MPH.  Also, accelerates a faster without having to use a clutch.

But I find the opposite problem from you. I find it makes it difficult to go back to my ICE bikes. I sometimes forget to put in the clutch when I come to a stop and kill the engine. I am just too used to the electrics since I ride them every day.

I find I ride my two electric bikes more than all my other bikes combined.

I really enjoy riding an electric motorcycle in heavy stop-and-go traffic jams, compared with an ICE motorcycle.  :)
