Updated my bike yesterday and rode to work this morning. Not noticed anything different.

nothing useful for the customer.
no change for the new dashboard visual.
no improvement in the 3G connection which does not work.
I wonder if zero is going to get its fingers out of its ass to give us back the 3G connection which worked quite well when we bought the new motorcycle.

Updated my '22 SR/S Standard.

The dash shows greyed out "Parking Mode" and "Ext. Range Charging" options. Were those there before?

Is there any chance this update range bumped the Standard? Would make sense to just roll that out in an update versus include it in the Cypher store if there's no charge. I'd be happy to help figure this out if I knew how to do that. Having had the bike for just a few weeks, I don't have a clue.

I tried 3 times this morning to update, and all 3 times it failed within a couple of minutes.  The first try was through the dash notification without using the phone app, and the next 2 tries were through the phone app.  After the first phone app failure the dash locked up and would not turn off when the key was turned off.  I was able to fix that by plugging in the charger for a few seconds.  Once again the Zero software team has produced quirky software that requires extensive owner involvement to get a satisfactory outcome.

I get PTSD whenever I hear the words "Firmware", or "Canyon" in the context of Zero motorcycles.

First they limited my speed without warning, causing a dangerous situation in traffic for me.

Next the limitation of speed and power lasted for several months.... I had a neutered motorcycle.

Then the next update failed 30 times, and finally made the bike completely dead so it had to go a dealer.

When I got it back from the dealer they had broken tabs on the bodywork. Lied right to my face about it and accused me of being a liar. After I showed them a video I had made of the bike as they were picking it up for repair, showing the stuff intact, they promised to order replacement parts... but this was just another lie so I would go away. They never got the parts and never called back to fix it.

And now the bike works as normal, but the display has been changed to teeny tiny little icons on mostly empty space, so I can barely read important data.

Now, again, the bike keeps prompting for updates, then it fails to update. Just like before.

I decided today from now on whenever I see "Postpone" I'll just keep clicking it. It only takes a second. I'm done with their updates. Im effing tired of it. My motorcycle works, even though the display has been ruined. Leave it the F alone. I never wanted ANY of that. I just wanted it to continue working in the manner it was when I purchased it. Don't care about anything else they have to offer.

My daughter's 2014 Zero S has never had its firmware updated since it left the factory in January 2014 and it still runs like new and has never had a firmware related issue.  And it's simple programming and display never ask to be updated. It just charges and run as it always did. :)

Hi 2020 srs commuter, I'm with you totally on the postpone bit..

I did manage to get my dealer (davant, Uk) to get a un-improved dash from zero so I will have got the old format. Sigh no parking but at least I can read the damn thing when riding.... see the topic on this forum on New dash firmware from Mooseman.

Oh it will. Because I'll have it in Mooseman mode, meaning I'm going to remove the 12 V battery so the bike doesn't drain it, thus it won't drain the HV battery either.
It was ridiculous last winter. Storage mode used way too much power and I can't recharge below 0 degrees C. I don't think Zero has any idea what a Canadian winter is like.

One thing to note is Lithium based batteries just plainly have poor performance in cold weather, for charging and discharging.
If ambient temperatures are too cold or too hot while charging/discharging it could cause long term wear in the form of reduced capacity.

Oh I get why they don't allow me to charge the bike in cold weather, that's not my issue.

My issue is that storage mode is not preserving enough energy to get the bike through winter. When my MCC was still working (that's a story for another day) I saw that it was still active in storage mode. Also storage mode monitors the SoC of the battery and drains it to 60% if you let it sit at a higher SoC for a month IIRC. All these things require juice from the battery and cause it to drain over time. It's storage mode for crying out loud. Why can't they just disable everything and leave it to the owner to drain the battery to 60% before winter starts? The cold temperature is actually a perfect condition for a LiIon battery to be stored at. It won't lose a significant amount of energy if it's left alone, but sadly Zero decided to slowly drain it.

That's basically why I will disconnect and remove the 12 V battery and keep it in my basement during the winter. That way I can recharge it as necessary (probably not at all) and the bike won't be able to suckle on the HVs battery's teat.

Installed BMS 21 and MBB 26 yesterday, did not notice anything different. Magic Charging problem still there.

I had the same issue updating as everyone else, dash asked me if I want to install the new firmware when turning the bike on, selected yes, waited a long time, finally: Error.

I then updated through the app instead. I had issues with this before, but if you keep the app in the foreground the whole time while installing it seems quite stable. Always works for me this way, although it is boring to wait by the bike without being able to use the phone for 30min.
