I'm still debating getting a Model X. I already have the Zero, so I don't need a high-efficiency commuter. I could use something to haul stuff around. Granted, the X is very expensive, but I was also toying with renting it out on RelayRides.

It's kind of a nice quandry to have.
If you want something to haul stuff, have you ever considered a trailer?

Just saw a Ford Ranger EV for sale in Nevada for like $9000 USD on craigslist.  Has NiMH batteries that might need to be reconditioned, but can haul things for short distances at 1/11th the price of a Model X.

I actually looked at the electric Ranger when it was on the market, however many years ago that was now. It just won't serve my needs, though. I have the Zero for the great majority of my (mostly commuting) needs, and another vehicle to cover everything else: hauling stuff, inclement weather (yes, I'm a fair-weather motorcyclist), long trips, carrying more than one passenger, etc. The electric Ranger doesn't have much range, doesn't charge very fast and can only carry one passenger.

I'm looking at the Tesla model Y now. When that becomes available (and the line to buy one thins out), I'll consider trading my hybrid RAV4 for one. I think those two vehicles (Tesla model Y and whatever electric motorcycle I own at that point) will satisfy all my needs pretty well, at pretty reasonable cost.

I took delivery on 5/17. It's been great so far! Phenomenal power compared to a Leaf, or most other cars on the road.  :)

Nice, the red color looks great on that car. I received my design invite on April 6th, but I need to wait for my current leases (a Spark EV and a Fiat 124) to expire first. Damn you Elon for shortening the timeline. I was ready to wait 3 years...
