I apologize in advance for the wall of text. I currently own a 2016 Honda CRF 250 L and I am paying on it monthly and have about a year and a half left. I really want a 2018 zero fx.  I’m trying to figure out how I can make my dream of having this bike a reality . What options I have.  I originally bought my Honda because I owned many other Honda products I had a XR 100  as well as a 250.  I did not buy it at the time because I thought the mileage was too low. My trip back and forth to work is about 30miles or 35 if I take the side streets.  But it looks like it’s only gotten better.  I do occasional off roading but nothing muddy or intense. I just feel like the Honda doesn’t have the power I want and I have been looking at the zero motorcycles since 2015.  I’m just kicking myself for not getting one sooner.  I love everything that zero stands for and in general electric motorcycles. Fuel my world with electric. What am I looking at as far as pricing? What am I looking at as far as people who pay per month? Any advice or help I would be grateful for. Thanks in advanced

Hi Ed welcome aboard and glad to see you so excited about getting your first EM.
Let me just hit some of the basics.  Test ride the the bike, they are top speed limited but real torquey.  Can you plug in at work?  A sixty mile round trip is more than I would want to do on an FX at highway speeds and feel good about my range.

There are two groups of people I don't feel great about telling to go buy a Zero.
First are the money is tight group.  As much as I love my DS there are much cheaper options (I think you have one right now).  The 18s will be full sticker price until after the summer plus some add on fees to bring you right at 12ish grand.
The next group is the "my Zero is my only way to get around" guys.  Don't get me wrong most of the bikes have worked well if not flawlessly for most people.  But if there is a problem it could be  in the shop for days-weeks-months if it has to go back to the factory.  There are not many do it yourself fixes or even fixes that any nondealers can do.

You know your situation best and if these arten't issues for you.  I'd also tell you to look at Cycle Trader at some of the 2017 and 2016 bikes at lower prices (but a little less range) with the big factor still be able  to "always" charge at work.

Good luck and hope it can work out for you.
