Rider Magazine reviews the 2017 SR
« on: October 07, 2017, 08:28:41 PM »

The November issue of Rider Magazine has a review of the PT-equipped 2017 SR, on pages 68 and 69.  This is the start of a long-term test and in this first article they only covered 750 miles.  Expect to read the usual comments, such as them overheating the motor when going uphill while trying to pass overloaded pickup.  Other than that and a comment about the PT's hight mounting location weight, everything is pretty positive so far.

In their March issue, Rider Magazine has published a "Long-Term Ride" review of their 2017 SR/PT test bike.  They have ridden it for 2190 miles so far. The short article starts on page 67 of the magazine and concludes on page 68.  Not too much new in the article, other than mentioning that they were able to achieve a distance of 114.4 miles while a 200-pounder was riding in mixed city and highway usage.  With a lighter rider at mostly city speeds, the bike went 130 miles and barely 100 miles on the freeway.

They set their custom mode to 100% torque, 108 mph top speed and 76% regen (I assume that was with the throttle closed).  And that is about it.

I have no idea. ???  I just received my print magazine a couple of days ago.  I never read on-line magazines unless I get sent something in my email mailbox as I do with motorcycle.com. (There is a story behind me being on their mailing list, which has something to do with City Bike and an article I wrote for them some years ago.)

When the big solar flare hits the Earth, I will still be reading my paper magazines - by candlelight.   ;)

Sorry if this is already old-hat. Didn't see it mentioned in the thread yet:
