I suspect the experience is different because of the ICE bike gear ratios vs. the e-bike fixed pulley ratio.

Cuyler is a good guy. I bought my 2015 FX from him, and he helped resolve a bad battery issue under warranty. Small private shop dealing with older bikes mostly.

I did buy a 2017 FX from Capital City in early April.  It was a very good experience dealing with Cuyler and I also recommend him and his shop.  The FX has been great and once I resolved the noisy front brake with new pads, there have been no issues.  It has been fun experimenting with the Custom mode settings.  The acceleration is impressive and it is really fun riding around town.  Yesterday I was riding behind a Tesla for several miles and was thinking what fun is this!
