250km day trip on a ZEV LRC
« on: August 05, 2016, 01:20:12 AM »

Hi folks,

Just wanted to share my recent experience - I decided to go to another city to visit my wife and back with her in 1 day on my ZEV LRC 10 (10kw batteries, 10kw controller/motor), and it worked out pretty well! This is my longest one day distance covered on a bike so far, and as a driver in general, since this scooter is my first motorized vehicle haha  :). One way is around 125 km, so there and back is ~250 km, meaning I had to charge during the day. I've put the charger and a 20 m cable into the rear top box, and I had a second helmet, a large scooter cover and a backpack in the underseat compartment - had no issues finding space for that stuff. On my way there I was riding alone but on my way back I had a passenger and 2 bags of various stuff in the underseat. It was a beautiful sunset that day, I've never seen the sun so red and low on the horizon before. Sadly I didn't stop to take a photo because I was on a part of the highway where stops were not allowed. I did not ride fast since I was not exactly confident whether I'd make it or not - took a bit over 2 hours each way. I specifically kept my speed no higher than 80 km/h to avoid excessive police attention due to the absence of a license plate (which I am unable to get in my country - epic fail. Luckily I'm relocating soon, taking the bike with me!).

Been riding this bike for 3 years now, but not too much - around 5700km covered so far. I started electric and I don't consider ICE for any future investments, electric is the future. Cheers everyone :)
