97%, and the heat.
« on: June 21, 2016, 09:05:40 PM »

We had a 115 degree day yesterday, and while it made for unpleasant riding conditions, the Zero SR rode just fine.  The only oddness actually came this morning.  I got home last night ~9pm, plugged it in as usual... came out this morning, unplugged it, and the charge was at 97%.  It had 9 hours plugged in, uninterrupted power, and was at ~60% charge when I got home, so it should've only taken 2-3 hours to charge.

That's the first time I've ever had it be under 100% after charging.  Is that a reflection of it getting hot yesterday, or something unrelated I should worry about?  Curious as to your thoughts... thanks in advance!

I believe that it won't charge above or below a certain temperature. The battery core was probably much hotter
than ambient temperature. My FX is a few years old now, it never showed over 95% ( got it with about 1,000 miles on it )
when just using on board charger. If I used the fast charger and the on board charger, it would show 100%. Lately, it
goes to whatever it is to top off, then, drops to 91% overnight. It was very hot here in Vegas yesterday as well. I plugged
my Ford Focus Electric into 110v at around 1 in the afternoon with around 60% charge. Came out at 10 pm, it was still
about the same percentage. The Focus has an active heating and cooling system for the battery, so, I am guessing that
it spent most of the day just cooling the batteries. Hate to only have access to 110V in summer or winter.

I just had a similiar expeirence for the first time last night. I rode about 3 miles around 3am to the strip in las vegas while the heat was still over 100 degress, I plugged in at 32% and hours later when i returned it was stuck at 64% and not charging. I just tested it when i woke up today and it was charging again.
