If you are interested in talking about a company or product that is not an electric motorcycle, would you please do so on a different thread?

Sorry Ben. I saw your attempt at steering the thread at green carreport, and kinda thought back here we could let our hair down and get rowdy.

but it is your thread... and that should be easy for me to respect.

Zero's range of models seems to dominate the listing. Even if interleaved with the other makers. Even the most level handed approach is tilted as Zero marketing. I don't how to list things so they wouldn't appear that way. We all read about Zeros and another rehash of marketing materials should have new information - some "easter egg". Not to say the Ego gets the same handling, because I (like perhaps most) are unfamiliar so getting their facts in one place is helpful.

The "easter egg" might fill in for missing Zero later in the list... that is Zero announces what it is selling so everything is at the beginning. There is no "hint around the corner" for prototypes or concepts out of Zero. So contrasting the domination of their models, I was taken aback by the lack of entry in the "prototype" list.

The price on the LS-218 is just so "achievable" I suppose I never clicked on their "reserve now" link and got the pricing breakdown of the lower end unit. I figured "out of my reach" financially... Now reading side by side with other EV motorcycles one could really really think about being able to afford considering one of these fastest bikes - which should be "out of my reach" riding skillset wise.

Is the LIT C1 qualify as a "concept" model?   (sorry for picking at the scabs of everyone who is tired of hearing about this long overdue project)  It is about the only other one I follow (but I don't invest in). Or is motorcycle only EV's one "straddles"?  or is it EV's licensed as Motorcycles?... then the list might include [censored] wheeled EV's which becomes a nearly unmanageable list.

1:38. "I installed another speedometer on the Zev....because the one on the Zev exaggerates a lot."

It seems like the ZEC LRC uses the same Koso dash as the pre-2014 Zero S/DS bikes. It has a hidden speed adjustment mode where it can be trimmed to the correct speed - no need to install another speedometer :)

Zero for better or worse is by far the dominant player in the production electric motorcycle market, in terms of units sold. Energica is shipping bikes now, which is awesome, and Lito has been shipping bikes in small quantities for some time. Brammo has stopped producing bikes and Victory has perhaps started to sell the Empulse TT? I have a Victory dealer near me, should check it out.

Not everyone is as familiar with electrics as people that read this forum :)

Since it doesn't include scooters, probably doesn't include 3 wheelers either.

The Lit C1 is a production-intent concept - farther along than the BMW eRR for example (which honestly I don't think belongs on a buyers guide) - but probably counts as an enclosed scooter rather than a motorcycle due to the seating position.

(The Lit C1 has been in development so long that I expect they will further bump the capacity by the time it is being delivered; maybe they will be able to make their 200 mile range target after all, with a 15 kWh battery up from the original 8 kWh : )

I am not sure that Lit is still around.  The last time City Bike tried to check them out, they locked the door and pretty much told them to get lost. And that was over a year ago, as I recall.   ::)

Thanks.

Basically, the more we talk about his products and absurd claims, the more he "wins".  (Not sure what he's winning besides contempt, but that's another topic).  I'd rather give my attention to worthy companies who have electric motorcycles on the market, or established manufacturers looking to enter.

Still haven't heard if Lightning has delivered a 2nd bike.  Any ideas about this?

Regarding the Lit C-1, I haven't heard anything from them in about a year and am not sure they'll make it to production.  Also, it doesn't match the idea of "motorcycle" that a lot of people have.  But it is pretty cool!  Would love to have a chance to ride/drive one.

Readers of this forum are well aware of Zero. Yes.

I think Green Car reports readers are also familiar with Zero as well.

A quick Google search "zero motorcycles site:greencarreports.com" edited slightly to remove "mentions"

So my comment on the report, intended even for those outside this forum, is the reader would be rewarded when reading another article about Zero by having some new information not already in the marketing materials. It might not take much - an interview not previously published, or some feature or challenge not previously addressed. I know the article is relatively defined in content as a buyers guide, but Ben has some great adventures and is bound to have insight that could take some literary license and provide some fresh information.

I'd like to keep the discussion here about motorcycles, not scooters.  There are so many awesome bikes listed, and I'm interested in your ideas about the bikes that are available.

Cheers!

BTW, has anyone seen a Lito Sora other than on Hawaii 5-0?
Depends on your definitions. My Silverwing might technically be a scooter but is legally and functionally a motorcycle. I've had it weaving through traffic down the interstate at speeds well beyond DoD Nominal (100mph for you net noobs). That being said, I'm no fan of ZEV and really want an FXS to play with.
