It's been a while, but I started thinking about this more seriously again.  Here is a summary of the two problems:

• How to use the motorcycle battery to produce 120 VAC?
• How to charge the motorcycle from solar?

Tonight I tackled the second problem and hit a bit of a road block...  Long story short, I bought two DC-DC 600W 10-60V to 12-80V Boost Converters thinking I could feed them 48VDC each, step each one up to 60VDC, then connect them in series and get about 120VDC.  It worked, but only when I used different power sources.  Any ideas how I could get this to work with the same power source?

Ha!  Great thinking, a tesla power wall that doubles as a really fun motorcycle. Tiny home man cave got big dreams.

Nobody seems to have stepped up to the step-up question. Here is my theory:

I suspect the circuitry is truly step-up, like an AC step-up transformer which does not isolate like a normal transformer. So the variable part is added to the base, and the step-up does not have to provide  all the power, just the increment.  To check measure the resistance from input ( - ) to output ( - ) and from (+) to (+) while disconnected, I expect 0 ohms, notably on the ( - ) terminals. Be sure to measure both way ('red' test lead to input side ( - ) and black to output ( - ) and switched around with red to output, black to input like you would measure a diode.

To solve this, can you split the solar cells into two groups, to make the sources be independent or are they forced to share one side to a ground? I suppose that creates an issue with other usages of the solar arrays
