Agni. 95R Brush width.
« on: August 29, 2015, 05:27:25 AM »

I need the width of an Agni brush measurement.  I can't get new brushes to Australia until October.  I can take my 2010 DS Zero, apart again to measure them but I don't want to until I have new ones if I can, it is currently running on what is left of the old brushes.   There is a guy here who says he can make some if I give him the sizes.

Cheers,
Cam

If you have all the dimensions that would be great.  Width, Length, Thickness and length of pigtail but I will be happy just to confirm the width measure right now.

I found out for myself by taking the motor apart after it burnt up again.  19 mm wide, 2 mm thick, I estimate around 30 mm long but I am not sure on that one... and a 75 mm pigtail...

Did you time the motor before reinstalling it the first time?

The timing that originally burnt up the brushes was set by Zero.  My brother had never touched the bike, it managed 1500 miles like that.  The timing when it burnt up a second time was set at neutral, it managed about 8 miles but the brushes were not much good that I had for testing. Having been unable to source parts at all for sure yet other than a promise of them in October sometime, maybe.  I had it set to NO advance, for sure and was nursing the bike, all I was doing when it failed was trying to go from an intersection, it made it halfway across and died in the middle.  I am assuming that NO advance is the safest setting for slow riding.
