Hi All - I'm new to electromotoring. I've been looking to get one as a commuter. I'm pretty set on a Zero FX. I was using a BMW G 650 GS as a commuter but it was way too slow for me. Great bike otherwise. I liked the DS suspension for soaking up our numerous potholes around here. I figure that the FX will be similar but also let me have real fun in the dirt.

I've owned several different bikes from modern Ducati's to my current vintage fleet - CX500 (running), CB750(almost running) and several other bikes that are slightly better than parts bikes. I love my vintage stuff but for work I want to walk out to the garage, get on the bike, go to work, and park. I am kind of tired of the constant minor things that come with my vintage stuff for my daily commute.

If there's anyone around Pgh that would be willing to let me try out their electric bike I would greatly appreciate it. The closest dealer is in Cleveland and they seem to be a typical dealer and had no desire to sell me one. "Do you have one in stock?" "No" - "When will you get one?" "No idea".

So for the Zero FX is there any advice on purchasing? Anything to look for or avoid? Significant difference in model years?

Thanks everyone
