On my often varied route to work I drove past and electric moped shop in Madison WI. (yes to my surprise)
http://www.fluxmopeds.com/I stopped in one day after work, talked and took a test drive.
While this review is better and more factual than I could have been:
http://300mpg.org/2014/08/18/electric-scooter-review-2014-flux-mopeds-em1-electric-scooter/I took a test drive too and it was as moped like as anything could be.
No need to manually push off the line - like i see some mopeds doing around town.
QUIET (that is quiet compared to a Zero) hub motor without gearing.
Top speed limited by controller to qualify as a moped it is more useful within the power band than something "topping out" at 30mph.
I lifted the battery - easy to manage size and balance. (it charges outside of moped but you can carry the charger).
The "Limp Mode" is manually selected under the seat when "reserve" is reached for that extra mile home.
Anybody already in town has got to seriously consider one of these.
With "in town" range and usage these fit the moped niche without a price premium.
