zero FX quick charger?
« on: October 01, 2014, 01:26:12 AM »

Picked up a 2014 Zero FX 5.7 earlier this year.  Spent most of the summer in the shop with a broken ccu board, but is working well now.  While it was in, I ordered a quick charger from Zero, and it came with an Anderson connector attached to it.

My question. ..there is no corresponding connector on the bike, was there an install kit my dealer was supposed to order with it?

Hi FialaArms,

If you want to use the Quick Charger in combination with the on-board charger while the Power Packs are installed in the motorcycle, you don't need any additional items.  Check out page 4.12 of the Owner's Manual.  You'll find that the connector is hidden behind the fairing area on the right side of the motorcycle as in the picture.  Some people choose to trim the fairing to simplify access, but this does expose it to the elements.

If you were to decide to use the Quick Charger for off-board charging of the Power Packs.  You do need an Power Pack Module Charging Adapter (p/n 10-07601)

Here is the cutout I made in the covering on my FX to expose the Anderson connector for the external charger.

I know the S and SR have a provided cover to go over the Anderson connector.

Maybe one of these would work?
