getting the S or SR - Zero early adopters rate in Oz
« on: June 19, 2014, 05:55:05 PM »

Zero has some great specials on the S and DS 2014 stock in Oz now. this makes these bikes quite a bit more attractively priced than the SR. would you go for it or pay the big bucks for a SR?

An S 11.4 is A$19,990 vs a SR 11.4 at A424,490. Giving that difference and that the bikes are the same but for the motor and controller seems an interesting option. Range etc. same. just a slightly less nippy bike.

more details:

Hmm.. that'd make it a little more tough to call.

US pricing is 13% higher for the SR. 23% higher pricing would be harder to justify.

The S is far from slow. I'd probably ride both, lust after the SR, but settle on the S.

Hi Tom,

as I know you had only the 2011 up to now. You will be blown away riding a 2014 S. The SR will be really a gun therefore it depends on how hard you ride.

I think a S and the power tank make the bike a really good choice (vernümftig Wahl). The SR is fun pure but do you really need this power. If the price difference is not so big I would go for the SR but in daily use the S will satisfy all our needs too.

For me it is much more important to have fast charging - what I did with may 2012. Riding my 2013FX with normal charging speed I god aware how limited I am.

I asked if any rebate on SR sadly no.
I think the discounted price is because they tried to price gouge and no one is buying at the asking price . Is only for first 30 bikes sold which is probably all their first shipment. Look at the comments on their FB page many disappointed due to high price compared to US and EU. I would have bought if price was same value with rest of world. we should be paying about same as Canada.
not happy to pay 25% more for same bike. I going to wait for 2014 model hopefully have ABS. Maybe HD and Bultaco and Brammo may also be selling to give more competition.
