Yesterday I went 80 km from home, the first time to go that far and came back home after a few hours of charge. I've hit the 1000km mark by me (the odo indicates 400 km more, my bike was a demo). I'm happy to have done so much in only a few months.

I just have one question about the SoC indicator. I arrived with 2 blinking bars left. The phone was showing 30 %. Isn't that a bit early to start flashing? At what percentage the bike goes into limp mode?

I don't know about the 2013 models, but that sounds about right for the 2012 bikes.  When the last bar disappears, you have another few miles of movement before the bike starts creeping along at a walking pace and then sort of just takes a rest.   

However, on the 2014 models, there are no flashing bars, or any other warning, other than the SOC percentage display and when it reads zero, you are not moving at a walking pace, but a pushing pace.

I also did my longest trip on my bike yesterday, and arrived home with 4% on my 2013 S. Since I knew I was going to make it to my driveway without pushing, I tested the performance at this low of a SOC. Speed did not appear to be limited (I went up to 100km/h), but there was a noticeable decrease in acceleration. It was still snappy enough to have fun and didn't feel like limp mode. I have heard others say speed gets limited to 60km/h, but I did not experience this. I believe once at zero bars, the phone app still indicated 13% remaining.

I have a 2013 S 8.5 and I actually ran out of battery near my home. The last two flashing bars last as long as the first two. On my bike that's about 5 miles on the freeway for each bar...much longer of course at slower speeds...maybe even 8 miles for each bar. Anyway whatever you get per bar stays the same for the each of the last two flashing bars. When the last bar disappears, the bike still goes though. Mine went almost exactly 2 miles farther in city traffic but that is much less than a normal bar. It then stopped and I turned it off and started walking it. After 5 min. I rebooted to see what would happen and I had power...but not much and only for about 30 yards. Then it was really dead. There was not much warning before the bike died. Just a little hesitation and loss of power quickly followed by total loss of power and you have to start pushing. In my case I coasted home because it was downhill mostly. From the time the last two bars flash, I would have as much as 18 miles of 20-30 mph riding, and no more than 11 miles of 65 mph riding

On my 2012 S ZF9, the total energy i have out of the battery is 7800Wh. When the two last bar are remaining and flashing, there is 6600Wh consumed and 1200Wh still availlable.

I calculated that on the 2012 when all bar are dissapeard you still have enough juice to do another 1.5 bar equivalent of run.

The total real usable bar on the 2012 is 12.5 bar before the battery cut.
