Shortly after buying my 2014 Zero S, after owning a 2012 S for two years, I applied for the California clean air rebate for my purchase. When I bought my 2012 Zero I signed an agreement that said that I would keep my bike for at least 3 years and if I sold it I
might have to return some or all of the $900 rebate that I received for that bike. But two months after applying for the rebate for my 2014 bike and after giving my 2012 Zero to my daughter (who was able to register the bike for only $15), yesterday I received a $900 check from the California Center For Sustainable Energy program. So it looks like there is still money in the trough, in spite of all of the Tesla and Leaf owners receiving much larger rebates and purchasing many more vehicles.
