The EV credit expires today
« on: January 01, 2014, 03:37:06 AM »

According to an AP article in the business section of my newspaper the federal electric vehicle tax credit will expire today.  A lot of other business deductions are going by the wayside too.  The AP thinks that Congress will reinstate the deductions and credits retroactively later this year, as they have done in the past - but there is no guarantee of that.  All of my congressional representatives like this EV credit but they won't be casting the deciding votes.  Oh well, I don't make my EV purchase decisions based solely on price.  If I did, I would be buying a Honda Glom.   ::)

Richard I've heard this from a dealer as well.  He asked the EPA guy in his area but I think he also said Chicago/Illinois had their own incentives.

I guess I will find out in about a year if the Federal EV tax credit was reinstated.   ???  In the meantime, I am pretty sure that CA is still offering a $900 rebate on electric motorcycle purchases, although I am not sure if they will want $300 back for me not keeping my 2012 Zero for three years before replacing it.  That I will probably will find out fairly soon.
