Is the Lightning Real?
« on: July 24, 2013, 05:46:08 AM »

I followed a link to a test ride on the Lightning.  The "review" had talk about the bike "going into production" and "orders being taken".  Does anyone know if this company is real?  Unlike the Mission (which is not real yet), there were no pictures of the bike with the fairings off.  With the Mission R you can see the quality of engineering which give hope that they have done their homework on the battery.  The only thing I can see about the Lightning is that huge real sprocket (as opposed to Mission's planetary reduction) which is a simple (maybe non-elegant) way to solve the same problem.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about these guys (or this guy)?

They're real. I don't know their depth of commitment to producing production bikes - they've made noises about bringing both an affordable bike and a scooter to production, but I haven't seen anything major since.

They reportedly have at least one customer for their superbike.

If you're interested then I suggest you contact them directly (and report back here ; )

I did and got a quick email response.  There were no answers in the response or additional information of any kind; just an offer to set up a call.  I'll post what I learn.
