Here is the final installment and conclusions of the French 2013 Zero DS review.  From what I know about the 2013 model, the reviewer seems to have hit the nail on the head with his comments, both when commenting on the features of the Zero DS and when discussing electric motorcycles in general.  I note that he mentions the squealing brakes and hard seat in particular.  I really think that Zero should address these relatively simple items when designing the 2014 models.  It would also be nice if Zero tightened up the speedometer accuracy a bit.  Apparently the accuracy of the 2013 model is just the same as on my 2012 bike - reading about 5 mph below the actual speed:

Nice series.   

I thought that the complaint about not making noise while passing is moot.... People in cars DO NOT hear motorcycles of any kind until the motorcycle has gone past them.    By that time the noise doesn't really matter.   Loud pipes save lives baloney.

The pedestrian noise issue is real.   I have witnessed that one.

As for the hard seat... I only wish that my Zero had the range to make that an issue.   I have a 2012 and the 2013 seat is quite luxurious in comparison.   It is not an issue for me at all since the range of the bike limits saddle time.

I think that Zero intentionally mis calibrates the speedo (and consequently the Odometer) to give the rider the impression of more range.   Keeping the speed down increases range as well.  i also wish that they would stop this and just dial it in accurately.

Overall a very nice and thorough review though.   I enjoyed reading through it.

In Europe the law is "10 % of Speed + 4 km/h" there is no negative tolerance allowed.
So it is usually 2-5 km/h plus!
The more distance is for sure a "positive" effect a company like
+5mph is a lot, my 2012 DS has +2km/h at 50km/h
