Blame to Europe!
« on: May 11, 2013, 03:28:38 PM »

I have sniffed around at http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/ and saw at “BUY” => “INCENTIVE”  there is the world map displaying what countries do for electricity.

I saw only some Austria states do something! unbelievable

If I think most German I know blame the US for doing to less for the environment. I think “Everyone should put his own house in order first.” and be not so arrogant.

The road tax for electric bikes is zero in the Netherlands. It's not much government support but at least it's something.

In fairness, most of those state bubbles are just the federal 10% credit.

Edit: Zero lists California, Georgia, Maryland, Oregon, Utah, and Washington states as having their own tax credits that apply to EV motorcycles. The reliability of the information listed is up for debate ; )

California, Georgia, Maryland, Oregon, Utah, and Washington state are the only states that have their own tax credits that apply to motorcycles.

Incorrect.

Oregon has absolutely NO incentives for Electric Motorcycles.

The only incentive they have, is for 25-35% (residential/business) of the cost of purchase and installation of a charging station. The info on Zero's website is questionable.... I don't know of ANYONE that has gotten this credit from Oregon for the onboard charging system that owns an EV.

From what I learned at the last OEVA meeting (lots of folks tried to get it).... It applies ONLY to offboard charging systems, like J1772/Chademo.

Ok I have to admit Germany has also a Tax free law - like e-cars, but it was funny last year I had to pay tax (11€ lol) but they changed the law and now bikes free too for 10 years and I got the money back.

You know Diesel and heating oil are the same but there is a color in the heating oil. If they test your Diesel car and there is some of this colored oil you will severe sentence. The tax for car fuel is very high.

But there is no possibility to "color" the current ;D and there is no way to hold away someone to use residential current.

So I believe there is not really a will to have more e-mobility.
