Zeros in the UK
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:54:00 PM »

It looks like Zero will be selling their 2013 models in the U.K. next year.  Their range includes a new blacked-out dual-sport version, the Stealth Fighter FX that I can't recall seeing in their initial 2013 product announcement.  I guess they think the British like their bikes to be hard to see while riding quietly along the street or green lane.

Here is the story:  http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/zeros-new-stealth-fighter/21756.html

US pricing, Honda NC700X $6999
US pricing, FX 2.8 $9495, +36% (FX 5.7 $11995, +71%)

UK pricing, Honda NC700X £5950
UK pricing, FX 2.8 £7995, +34% (FX 5.7 £9995, +68%)

Looks like prices are about the same.

UK fuel prices now are around 140 ppl (£5.29/gal) .. so the spread between a NC700X and a FX 5.7 will purchase 765 gallons of gas.

US fuel prices now are $3.49/gal .. so the spread between a NC700X and a FX 5.7 (w/ 4% sales tax) will purchase 1489 gallons of gas.

British bikers have always had a penchant for black bikes, black leathers, helmet etc.   Its only recently that things have started to change and many more riders are wearing high vis and buying colourful bikes.

I have filled in the zero contact form for purchasing a 2013 Zero S in Brisbane, Australia.
Will see what there official reply is.

used to have 3 dealers listed. (Sydney, New Castle, Melbourne) now only Melbourne the head office is listed.
Zero Australia did stop importing bikes this year but are still doing spares and warranty.

For Oz we ate getting reply that they are considering to bringing bikes in the future. But no definete date at all. Guess we might need to find an alternative way.
Obviously the Oz system sucks - no subsidies at all for EVs. Epsecially annoys me why registering my Zero that they have a CO2 emission calculator on their website to tell u how "green" ur vehicle is. Doesnt work for the Zero -
