2013 Guess on Delivery
« on: November 11, 2012, 06:58:36 AM »

Does anyone have any insight or even an educated guess as to when Zero will start delivering the 2013s?  I'm thinking 2013 but then that is not very useful.

I think I read in one of their press releases that the 2013 models would start showing up in January.  That is what happened with the 2012 bikes.  The first one hit my dealer in January and more started arriving in February. That was when the bike that I ordered arrived.

Thanks!  I wonder what their backlog is and when mine will show up.  I'll see if my dealer can tell me where I am in the queue.

My recollection was that last year they reported some date later than January, but then shipped in January before their projected date, no?  This was before I arrived on the scene since the 2012's were already in dealer showrooms when I got the e-moto bug.  I just remember people saying that they had shipped ahead of schedule...

I think last year, when the 2012 models were announced in the fall of 2011, the projected date for release of the new models was in March 2012.  They beat that date and that was unusual for a (mostly) totally new bike from any manufacturer in my experience.  I really give Zero credit for not overestimating their production schedule and not disappointing their customers by making them wait for the bikes after giving their dealers a cash deposit.  I hope they can do as well this year.  I'll bet they make that January date, depending upon the location of the dealer and how long it takes to ship the bikes to them.

Below is my reply from filling in DEMO RIDES / INQUIRIES on zero website for 2013 models, This is the first positive news since zero suspended their sales in Australia ( http://www.bikesales.com.au/news/2012/zero-motorcycles-on-hold-in-australia-30054 )

Thank you for reaching out. At this time we are in between Importer / Distributors in Australia. It is important to us that our importer partner provide the best sales and after sales services for our customers and dealers. We expect to have that partner aboard soon.

In the mean time if there are any questions you may have feel free to e-mail me directly. Once we have an Importer / Distributor appointed and motorbikes on the way to Australia we will surely let you know.

Regards,

John Lloyd - VP Global Sales

I filled out a demo request as well and here is part of the response I received-

"Deliveries to dealers are scheduled to begin in late January. We are hopeful that the Zero RSM's will receive their demos sometime in December. "

This is good news!  I hope all goes well and I see my bike in late January or early February.  That being said, I've had to produce things in the past and know how hard it can be to hurd the production cats (vendors and internal resouces).  Zero, if you listening, thanks for being willing to provide an estimate!
