Energica has CCS fast charging built-in to their bikes... So it IS possible, although they are 4000 euro's more expensive. But then you'll get people saying "I don't need no stinkin' fast charging, make a lighter bike with a simple 1300W charger!"...
I love the ability to charge the bike in about an hour. Last sunday the mrs and me were touring Zeeland, and covered a total distance of 400 km with a fast charge (7.8kW) of 30 minutes to reach Breda and there I topped it off using semi-fast charging (3kW) for 3 hours during dinner, returning home using the highway since it was dark and you can't see anything interesting anyway
.
But, to be honest: I built the fast charger out of curiosity, and most of the time it's a $600 paper weight because I commute on almost a single charge a week... So the fast charger isn't absolutely necessary, but I love having the ability to fast charge. It totally broadens the usage envelope for me.
