I agree that the Domino throttle is a good place to start, so I'll pick one up soon.

I bought this USB to Serial Port cable to connect to the controller and to a laptop. It worked, but I couldn't do much with the controller settings since the MBB overrides anything you do in the controller:

Thanks for that tip, I have ordered that lead from eBay it was £15.30 GBP
Do we understand the relationship between the MBB and the controller and how it does what it does ?
On the old X & MX models it has two switches which gave 4 modes
I am still trying to figure out what the extra small lead with the 2 wires in it on the zero X batteries
Once upon a time there was a plug in dongle for that that changed some perameters
