TPMS Sensor Interference with Front Brake Caliper
« on: November 15, 2024, 04:24:20 PM »

Has anyone fitted an external TPMS sensor on their SR/S?  I've seen warnings on one TPMS vendor's website about possible contact with the right front brake caliper on bikes with 90 degree valve stems.

I have them on my 2023 SR/F. Since every manufacturer might be a little different, I don't think there's any way to know for sure whether the one you are looking at will be an issue without installing it and finding out

I find the smallest wheel sensors to come with this motorcycle TPMS.

I've not had anything with right angle valves on, would you be able to apply some force to rotate it so it's pointing at more of an angle?

I suspect you would have to demount the tire, otherwise you might get a slow leak.

I've been using "Sykik Rider SRTP300" on my 2020 SRS since January 2023 with no issues. It's been trouble free. The thing to keep an eye on though is make sure the values are changing. If you see they've stopped changing, it's time to replace the battery in the sensor, which is easily done. But there is no warning the battery is dead... the display keeps showing whatever it reported last.
I have the original valve stems on the wheels, I don't change them when a new tire is mounted. No problem.
