Good day,

Any body had issues with the turn signals on Zero DSR 2018 (or other zero for that matters). When actionned, the turn signal simply light up solid orange and is not blinking, neither front or back and simply stays on until i turn it off.

Any idea on how to fix this?

I would try replacing the turn signal relay.

Before replacing the signal relay try looking for a burned out bulb. A bad bulb can cause the signals not to blink when your switch is activated.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. As a matter of fact, there are no burnt out bulbs on the bike however, for some reasons that I can’t explain, i went for a short bike ride earlier and the signals worked fine, for about half hour!

It seems they randomly decide to act weird. I did replace the original rear turn signal and brake light with Weiser Technik Extreme LED signal, dont know if this could be the issue? Or the fact that I have added USB port to the back to charge the phone although signals were acting weird before the install!

Having third party parts might affect it.  It shouldn't, but it might.

Not sure how to prove it aside from running a signal-recording device to see what signals the bike is giving to the lights.  What a pain.

I would check to make sure your voltage is above 13 on your lights. IIRC, mine are 13.8 VDC.

I would expect one of three things:

1. bad connection.
2. low voltage.
3. flaky blinker.

LED’s draw upwards of only1/7 the current to that of incandescent/stock bulbs so I would start by changing out your OEM (Electro-Mechanical) turn signal relay with a solid state/electronic  type.
The OEM needs a certain amount of current draw to activate the blinking feature.

Unfortunately Zero used a non conformity pin orientation on the three pin plug. 

I’ve changed all my stock lights to Led & ended up getting an industry standard electronic relay & reconfigured the pins on the Zero plug (swapped the two mismatched).

Was too long ago to remember which two.........

anch'io da  qualche  giorno , non mi funzionano gl' indicatori di  direzione  il fusibile  è ok , in quanto clacson e luce freno posteriore funzionano,  quando  clicco a  sinistra  o destra  il relè  si  sente clak che attacca ma poi non fa  l intermittenza , tutte  le  lampadine  sono  ok ma non si accende nulla ,  ho l appuntamento con l ' assistenza il  10 novembre  ma  se c'è solo da  sostituire il relè lo farei  da  solo .  ma  al relè arrivano fili diversi  da  quelli che arrivano alle  lampadine . non esiste uno schema  elettrico.
 abbiamo un manuale  di 200 pagine   senza  schema  elettrico.
 ringrazio  già per eventuali suggerimenti.  saluti  al tutti

Per my Zero notes (2016 DSR)

Per my Amazon purchase records I purchased this relay

So what I did so solve my Inop signal flasher after converting the bulbs from incandescent  to LED was to swap the male
 electrical connectors (+-)  on the bikes plug to accommodate this relay.

Note that there are relays with the correct +- orientation but I figured I would be better off making this simple swap so the “normal” relay would fit.

Buongiorno a  tutti  ringrazio per le  info , ho risolto, con un  normale lampeggiatore per  auto  12 v 2*10 W, da 15€ , comprato in negozio  ricambi da bravo  boomer  lampeggia un poco più veloce di prima ma  tutto funziona  egregiamente .

Maybe find an electronic type of flasher to insure a normal flash rate.
