New battery for my 2019 SR/F - some niggles

Its great to have the new battery installed, and I picked up the new dash and parking too.

Sadly, as always, A few issues:
1 The cellular has stopped working and theres no switch to re energize in in the latest software.
2 The charge rates have gone down from 2.3 kW to 1.7 Kw (at 81%). Is this the new battery charging, or is my charger on the way out?
3 The parking is great, but no instructions. I'm toggling between reverse and forward by hitting the engine on off switch. Is there an easier way?
4 I see the charge is limited by default to 90%, but the setting seems to have disappeared. How do I get 100%?

I was told the battery was new and unlocked, not so sure what that means.
Maybe I should read the 2023 SRF manual - does this have stuff about these issues in it?

Yes, it's been updated also with the parking mode, I looked that up in the DSR/X manual.

Sorry to hear that. I am still getting the remote connection informing me about the SoC of an ongoing charge, plus GPS location. Alas still no notifications.

I read that the new battery slows down charging sooner, but that should only be an issue only when charging with 12 kW and on uncapped batteries. On my premium it charges just fine at 6.6 kW (when available) until the end, and since the end displayed at 100% is probably 80% in reality (capped for battery replacement), there isn't any reason to slow down.

No such thing here, 100% like before if I want to.

Parking mode forward/reverse is done by pressing the cruise control switch.  To turn parking mode on or off, the bike has to be disarmed (kickstand down or run switch off).  It's very useful and quick once you get used to it.

I set the limit in the app, and keep it at 80 as you should.  When you plug the bike in, you should get an "override" function on screen, which causes it to charge to full right now (overrides both time and charge limit).  Do you not have other options in the app to set limit?  Or on the menu?  I also have the 110% function, which I can only access via the on-bike menu, I think.  I can't find that in the app.

I had a cell problem, and it was fixed by logging out of the app, and then logging in.

I'm going to enjoy parking mode. There have been a couple times I've had to back up up-hill in a parking garage because the exit lane I chose had a bad exit gate terminal. Pushing 500# backwards, uphill on my tippy toes without a reverse drive suuuuuuucks.

I read somewhere that the 17.3 kWh battery will charge slower than the 14.4 kWh battery (not by a lot, but the way it's wired will take longer to charge). Also, try pulling the fuse for the cellular modem. I've had issues before with my bike where the menu showed it was disconnected. That's just read-only info, not something you can select. Pulling the fuse reboots it. It's a little bit of a pain to get to, but easy enough.

I've been wondering about the "100%" charge too, since I just had the main pack on my bike replaced too. If we are software-locked to 15.3 kWh, "100%" should be 90% of the true pack capacity, right? I could try to keep it between 30-80% like normal, but maybe we don't need to be as diligent now? At least on mine, I am able to charge to what it says is 100%, so I would expect you can too.

RE the parking mode, Brilliant, thanks all.  Confusingly I've swapped the cruise and hazard switches but i can get my head round that. Used it already in reverse, turned off to go forward, which was a bit clunky. Cruise switch much simpler.

Ill look again at the charge target menu, may have been my clumsyness.  I used to set it to 65%, but often got charge stopped at this when on a longish journey, so now I disable it before a long trip.

RE the charging, I'm going for a 120 mile trip so I can find a fast charger and see what that gives.

It's fuse 1. A Zero engineer told me "With bike keyed off and key out, remove the CCM fuse (Fuse1) and reinstall the fuse.
Refer to page 6.34 in your owner’s manual."

It depends on the definition of "slower."  It takes longer for the same charger to fill up a larger battery.  It charges at the same rate, however.  I get exactly or just under 6.6kW from a capable charge cable.  It will take longer to supply more total charge however, just like it takes longer to fill a truck's gas tank than a Civic.

That makes sense. It's a linear charge curve from 0-95% on these bikes, right? All I know is that I mostly charge at glacial speeds of 1.4kW in my garage.

Yes, I get notifications on iOS. The most recent one I got was a few days ago on Saturday. The notification said the bike was moved. I think it sent that because I rolled it down a ramp while keyed off when unloading it from a truck. The remote connect for SoC and GPS works too.

Charged the battery on a 22kW 3 phase ev charger and it said 11.7 kW, which means all 3 chargers are working fine. Phew.
However, even when left on overnight from 80% it never made it to 100%, stuck at 97/98% last two times. Does 100% still reset trip A? in which case its a nuisance.

parking thing brilliant, starting to use it all the time even on the level.

Did the fuse, for the cellular,  but no change. Did I have it all keyed off? Yes defo.  No ideas what to try next.  Bloody electronics.

Brilliant bike :-)

And you did do the app logout, login?

Odd that it won't reach full SoC.  I feel like that may be an error more than truly not 100%.  I have that extended range option and it hits 110% reasonably quickly.  I haven't watched it carefully, but on a 6.6k charger it seems like a normal amount of time.
