I just got done installing a Bullet Brake on my 2023 Zero DSR/X. Took about 20 minutes and works perfectly.


As all DSR/X owners should know, it already has a hill hold that works very well as long as the key is on. It also does NO good at all for parking. It will release when the sidestand is down, even with the key on.   


So my new Bullet Brake is only for parking. Bike will not move an inch when activated. So strong, if I ever forget to release it and try to take off, I will be able to kiss my drive belt away. Something will have to give, and I doubt that will be the BB.


With this BB, park pointed down a steep hill all you want. The bike ain't going nowhere unless somebody touches the front brake. That is what will release the BB and then find you bike on the bottom of the hill.


Best to loosen the front master cylinder from the two small Allen screws. 2.5 mm. This will give more room. The stock banjo bolt is 14mm. But the BB bolt is ten MM. So you cannot use the same wrench to remove and install.


I did have to bleed the front brake from the nipple after installation.  Before bleeding, just after installation, I lost all of my front brake. I guess there was some air in there from the beginning, as now the front brake is much firmer than it was before I bleed it. Firmer than the first day I purchased the bike as new. Now I know what my front brake should feel like.


The installed BB is very easy to get to, as needed, for parking. Fits perfectly and nothing is in the way after it is installed.


FWIW, I now have the BB on all five of my electric motorcycles. Hard to get by without after using one.


Of course, there is always to poor man's method of using a plastic or rubber thingy that holds in the front brake. I was using that until today when I decided the BB is much easier to use when parked. Just press the button in and it is a very strong parking brake.


On all my other four electric bikes, the BB also serves as a great hill hold. But the DSR/X doesn't need such until parked.


All Zeros as well as all Energicas (AFAIK--at least all five of mine do) use the BB-01. 10MM threads.


They can be ordered in either silver or black. For the DSR/X, take your pick as that area is both black and silver anyway.
