The local MSF school had a "Rodeo" this past weekend where the RiderCoaches and their friends could test their skills on a course set up by some Highway Patrol Cops.  I went to watch, but as a former RiderCoach I'm friendly with a lot of the "old timers."  I rode my SR out and let a few of them take it for a spin.

They all came back with HUGE smiles on their faces.  The only "complaint" (if you can call it that) came from one who's ridden Harley Davidsons her whole life; she wasn't comfortable with the seating position.  Other than that, she loved it.

One guy came back and told me that it wasn't a motorcycle, it was an amusement park ride!  I think he was the one most loathe to give it back.

The final rider, a woman, said it felt like flying!  No vibration, no heat... just smooth motion and effortless turning.

I wonder if any of them are now considering going electric?  Well, all except the "Harley Girl."  She'll likely hold out for one with a more "cruiser-ish" riding position.

Well, she didn't complain about the lack of noise (her Low Rider is completely stock).  She's just more used to the "Feet Forward, back upright" riding position of a cruiser.

It has always seemed odd to me that there is not a manufacturer making an EV cruiser on the market. That would certainly make for an easier platform to house an EV power train and a relatively large battery pack than a sport bike chassis. I guess they think that cruiser riders don't want an EV because they want to make lots of noise? However, I am not convinced that is really the case.

I can understand it somewhat.  Unless it is fully-faired, the cruiser riding posture is probably the LEAST aerodynamic out there.  The Verge TS is the closest I've seen to a traditional cruiser position so far.

Ironically, not even Harley Davidson's electric motorcycles have a cruiser riding position!

Theres a pretty funny video of @ADVENTURESonZERO, slowly, riding his Livewire through a crowd at the HD Homecoming saying "potato,potato,potato..potato, potato, potato" over and over because no one was moving out of the way like they were for the gas bikes.

A friend of mine rigged up a small speaker system with engine sounds (high revving four, twin cylinder Harley, twin cylinder Ducati with dry clutch, etc) for me but I never figured out how to mount it on my Zero.

You say that but the Mustang Mach-E makes "vroom vroom!" sounds.

Yeah, some Hyundai models also have simulated engine noises.  I think that's something that may be required in some countries as a way of preventing pedestrian accidents.  You know... those idiots walking around with their noses in their phones instead of watching where they're going?  On the other hand, why aren't the DRIVERS aware of these idiots?  Oh wait... because their noses are ALSO buried in their friggin' cell phones!!
