Interesting, I suppose I get why, moving from producing 3 platforms down to 2 but I am a little disappointed.  I love the size and light weight of my S with the 7.2, its been the perfect commuter.  Going to be very curious to see how they price the S and DS.  With the SR now at nearly 20K, there is a big gap in price from the FXE.

Yeah as I mentioned in a previous thread on this, now anyone wanting a cheaper and lightweight Zero will be forced to get an FXE and in return lose the storage compartments, get slower charging, and probably have a less comfortable seat (I've never ridden one, just making an assumption). And no option to add a charge tank and get ~1 hour charging.

My 2017 Zero DS 6.5 (but now with a 7.2KWH batt)  is the perfect bike for my RV trips. With the 14.4 battery, I would not even be able to take it on my motorcycle hitch ramp. It will then exceed the tongue weight capacity. It's up at its max allowable weight capacity as it is.
